MODA TO RETURN TO THE NEC BIRMINGHAM IN FEBRUARY 2021

Hyve Group announces changes to their 2020 show calendar

A brand-new, collaborative “Fashion Together” virtual forum will take place this September

Moda will return to The NEC Birmingham for the AW21 season on 7th-9th February 2021

Due to the global impact of the Coronavirus pandemic, Hyve Group have announced changes to their 2020 show calendar. Moda, the heart of UK fashion, will no longer take place this September, and will return from 7th-9th February 2021 alongside leading retail show Spring Fair.

Following feedback from both exhibitors and visitors, Moda’s SS21 edition will not take place this year, reflecting Hyve Group’s ongoing connection with, and understanding of, the UK fashion industry, as well as their commitment to produce market-leading fashion trade shows that provide real value to audiences.

Following the rescheduling of Hyve Group’s portfolio of London fashion shows, this decision has been taken to ensure that Moda retains its value, and that attendance and participation reflect the quality that Hyve’s fashion shows offer.

For the AW21 edition, Moda will be cohosted with Hyve Group’s leading retail show Spring Fair. As a destination for over 50,000 retailers and 2,500 exhibitors, Spring Fair is the UK’s definitive retail trade show for the industry to come together and do business across 16 carefully edited show sectors, exhibitors and visitors are perfectly positioned to connect, discover and trade.

Hyve Group are excited to announce the launch of a brand-new, virtual forum exclusively for its fashion community. Named Fashion Together, this digital forum is designed to unite the fashion industry and bring essential insights to audiences. Recognising the importance of connecting people as a crucial part of what the shows provide, Fashion Together will provide an exclusive seminar programme and practical advice designed to educate and inform delegates. This will take place from 1st to 2nd September 2020 and is open to fashion brands and buyers.

Martin Arnold, Hyve Fashion Portfolio Director says, “After monitoring the situation we have decided that Moda will not take place for its spring/ summer edition this year. We have carefully considered hosting Moda later this year, but after speaking with our customers, we feel that this would not provide the experience that they have come to expect. However, we are excited to connect with our industry at Fashion Together and look forward to welcoming everyone to Moda in February 2021.”

Sam Hunt, regular Moda exhibitor and Owner of Hunted Brands which represents ROKA, UNISA and Mou Mou, said, “Of course we are disappointed that Moda will not be going ahead in September due to the pandemic, as this is the biggest UK show for us. However, we fully support the decision to cancel this edition based on the feedback of a number of buyers who feel that September is just a bit too early for a large scale event. Many of our Irish buyers in particular are nervous about international travel so soon after restrictions have eased. We now look forward to the AW21 edition and are excited that this is now co-locating with Spring Fair which will open more business opportunities.”

As the UK events industry recovers from the coronavirus crisis, Moda will return to its home at The NEC Birmingham to host its AW21 edition on 7th – 9th February 2021.
